McCarthy, Founder of FIRE-UP Training and Development
Tom graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill in 1983 with a political science degree. In addition
to being an honor student, Tom was also a member of the
varsity football team. He began his business career in 1984
as a financial advisor for a New York Stock Exchange member
firm. In his three years with the firm he became one of
the firm's top producers.
While at the firm, Tom began conducting training for new
brokers using the strategies he had developed that led to
his own success. In 1986 Tom joined Robbins Research and
Associates, an international training organization, as its
National Sales Manager and National Sales Trainer. In three
years at Robbins Research Tom hired, trained and led a sales
force that achieved annual sales increases of over 200%.
While at Robbins Research, in addition to his leadership
duties, Tom also delivered over 200 presentations to audiences
throughout North America.
In 1990 Tom formed Thomas McCarthy & Associates and
began creating and teaching his own peak performance models.
His performance models include FIRE-UP Your Presentations
(Persuasive Presentation Training), TRUE Leadership (Leadership
Training), STEP-UP Your Sales (Sales Training) and It's
All in Your Head (Peak Performance Motivational Training).
Tom is also the author of the critically acclaimed book,
FIRE-UP Your Presentation and FIRE-UP Your Results. Tom
has delivered training to thousands of people throughout
North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia
and New Zealand. His clients include market leading companies
like Cisco Systems, Centex Homes, Union Bank of California,
Whirlpool, Coca Cola, PacifiCare and Johnson and Johnson.
