Is it too much to ask you to feel great for every presentation? What if you didn’t get enough sleep the night before? Or you have a headache? Or your cat was sick? Or…fill in the blank with whatever circumstances tend to get in the way of you being at the top of your game.
If you’re going to be great, you can’t make any excuses. Getting yourself to feel great takes work, but you can do it for every presentation. This is one of my absolute commandments for myself: feel great every time! Believe me, there have been plenty of times when I’ve traveled internationally
feeling good at that point, but I make myself feel good (most of the rest of Part Two will give you precise strategies for doing just that). The bottom line is that any time you get up to speak without being in a powerful mental state, your ability to communicate suffers.
And when your ability to communicate suffers, you’re held back from getting the results you’re truly capable of producing. Hold yourself to the highest standard, and do what it takes to feel great for every presentation!
